Got this for pirate night on a Disney cruise and it more than did the job. The leather is nice quality – feels like an actual piece of gear, not a costume throwaway. The strap was easy to adjust and the fit stayed put on my head without sliding around or pinching. Comfortable too, with enough padding that it sits off the eye instead of pressing on it, so I could keep it on for hours without my eye watering or feeling squished. It also blocks the light from that eye well, so it actually functions as eye protection / coverage and not just a prop. Funny moment – when I lifted it up to eat, a cast member caught a glimpse and apparently thought it was real, then held back on complimenting the costume because they didn’t want to put their foot in their mouth on pirate night. So yeah, it looks legit. Honestly if you actually need an eye patch for a medical reason, this would be a solid pick.

I ordered this eye patch for my husband, who developed double vision and strabismus after treatment for eye cancer. Because of this, his eye sometimes wanders outward, which makes his vision worse. Covering that eye helps him see clearly, so he uses an eye patch fairly often. This patch works well for that purpose. The dome-shaped design is one of its best features. Instead of pressing directly on the eyelid, it creates space over the eye, which makes it much more comfortable to wear for longer periods. It also prevents eyelashes from rubbing against the inside of the patch. The material feels durable and lightweight. The exterior has a smooth, slightly textured finish, and the strap is simple and easy to adjust. It stays in place without feeling tight or irritating. Another thing we noticed is that it blocks light effectively. Because the edges sit fairly close to the face, there’s very little light leakage, which is important when you’re trying to fully cover one eye. This is a practical and comfortable eye patch. If someone needs to cover an eye due to double vision, strabismus, or recovery after an eye procedure, this design is a good option. It’s simple, functional, and much more comfortable than flat patches that press directly on the eye.
